I was born on 5th September 1984 in Arnhem (Netherlands), close to the German border, in a family
of restaurateurs, from whom I inherited my love and passion for the work I have been doing for a long time.
At the age of five I and my family moved to Milan where I attended the kindergarten, the primary and secondary school. Then I attended the Hotel Management school, an experience that offered me full development not only as a professional but as a person too.
After completing my studies and thanks to various internships I did at some big hotels like “Il principe di Savoia” and “Il Jolly” and various restaurants like “L’Osterietta” and “Innocenti Evasioni”, next to Tomasso Arrigoni (now a Michelin Star Chef), I managed to gain a great deal of experience in the field of food service.
In 2007 I started feeling the need to have my own business place, a strong and constant call combined with the attraction to follow innovations and new challenges, especially those which other people considered impossible. Therefore, at the early age of 23, I entered into business partnership with El Jadida and later in very little time I became their sole business partner.
Many people have always asked me why I chose to induct myself and manage an arabian restaurant in Milan and my answer has always been the same; because of my passion I have ever had for the middle East, fascinated by its various cultural aspects that I experienced at first hand during my trips such as its music, architecture, aestheticism and culinary elements of course.
So far, I have always tried to become better at everything. infusing western flavours with elements that middle east cusine has to offer, recommending and highlighting the unique and authentic details of gastronomic delights.
My obstinacy, in combination with various projects I have in mind, made me realise my first music compilation, composed of 13 melodies based on Arabian music but in a modern and contemporary version; Symphony Lounge Flavours.
Italy and Milan in particular, are my entrepreneurial base but some other projects are in progress and who knows, maybe,I will decide to open a new restaurant in Rome, London or Shanghai, based on the same philosophy of the current El Jadida.
